Embassy Summer at the University of Portsmouth
Our centre is located next to the seafront in a building which is part of the University of Portsmouth. Both the centre and accommodation are within a short walk of the city centre, the Historic Dockyard and the Clarence Pier.
Portsmouth has a lot to offer, with sights such as the Spinnaker Tower and Southsea Castle, and is also very close to other interesting cities such as Brighton. Students have a lot to explore!

Price: £1,000 per week (price includes tuition, trips, activities, accommodation, and full board)

Ages: 12–18 (18 year olds accepted as part of a group with a leader)
Accommodation: Single room with en-suite
Sample Excursion: Oxford, London, and Brighton.
- Rooms laid out along corridors
- Room furniture includes a wardrobe, desk and chair
- Rooms and bathrooms cleaned weekly, common rooms every other day
- Laundry available in the residence for a small fee.
- Meals are served in a large dining hall, with a packed lunch at the weekends
- Wi-Fi throughout accommodation
- 15 minutes walking distance to classes
On-site activities are organised in between lessons and during evenings. These activities could be on-site or near to the centre. All activities are designed to continue learning in a fun and enjoyable way, encouraging students to develop life skills and make new friends through sport, activities and socially interactive games.

Oxford: Students can experience this famous university city and visit one of its famous colleges
- Taught by friendly and professional English teachers
- 20 x 45 minute lessons per week morning or afternoon
- Placement test on day 1 to ensure students are in the correct class
- Maximum 17 students per class
- Students will be placed in an international class with students of different nationalities
- Spacious classrooms with projectors
- Classrooms are located across the main University building
- Curriculum with emphasis on communication skills
- Materials included, as well as an end of course report and a certificate

Sample Programme
Each 14 night stay will include a number of local accompanied visits to London with visits/activities and 2 full-day excursions to other major cities such as Cambridge, Brighton and Canterbury. Transport for trips may be by private coach or public transport.
Students may have lessons either in the morning or in the afternoon in week 1, alternating weekly after that.
