Embassy Summer at LIU Brooklyn
Our centre is located on the city campus of Long Island University Brooklyn, just one subway stop from from Manhattan and a short walk to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and the East River.
The breath-taking Manhattan skyline can be viewed from Brooklyn Heights and Promenade. The Empire State Building, Central Park, Times Square and all the exciting attractions of Manhattan are all within easy reach on the subway.

Our dorms are located on campus in Conolly Hall.
Standard twin and and triple/quad ensuites rooms. Laundry soap available on site for a small fee
Each room is furnished with a wardrobe, desk and chair
Laundry available in both residence buildings, $1.50 for cleaning and $1.50 for drying
The communal facilities are cleaned daily
All rooms have air-conditioning and linen changed weekly
Deposit of $100 required upon arrival, replacement of lost room key $20
Towel and washcloth are provided
Students are responsible to keep their rooms clean and tidy, bathrooms are cleaned daily
Meals
Meals are served in large self-service dining hall in residence building.
Breakfast
Both cooked and continental, which might include pancakes, eggs, juice, coffee and toast.

A selection of main dishes, including vegetarian and gluten free options.

The classroom is at the heart of your New York Junior English Course. English Lessons are student-centred and encourage the development of relevant language skills.
- 20 x 45 minute lessons per week
- Taught by friendly and professional English teachers
- Placement test on day 1 to ensure students in appropriate level
- Maximum 17 students per class
- Students will be placed in an international class with students of different nationalities

- Materials included as well as an end of course report and certificate
Arrival
Students will be welcomed upon arrival at the Embassy Summer office where they will register and get their room keys so that they can check in to their rooms.
Welcome
On the first evening there will be a welcome activity which is designed to ensure students have the opportunity to meet staff and other students and get to know more about the campus, its facilities and useful information which will help them during their stay.
Activities
Activities are organised in between lessons and during evenings. These activities could be on-site or near to the centre. These may include:
Sports such as football, volleyball and basketball
Evening activities – Evenings in the City, Dance Parties, Karaoke Night, Sports Night, Ice Cream Social w/ Team Building
Excursions and Trips
Coney Island: The original Brooklyn Beach theme park.
Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island: Students can take a ferry ride to Liberty Island and view this iconic statue. Visit Ellis Island the former gateway of millions of people who immigrated to the USA.
Empire Outlets: NYC’s only outlet shopping destination with high-quality clothes and shoes from the biggest brands.
Macy’s 34th street: More shopping in what is known as ‘the world’s largest store’!
Bronx Zoo: The biggest city zoo in USA with over 650 species.
Madame Tussauds: Located in Times Square, this gives our students the possibility to ‘meet’ with the stars.
Broadway show: Students get to pick to see one of the shows available.
Guggenheim Museum: A world-famous art museum in a beautiful building.
Six Flags Amusement & The Edge offer exciting adventures
Other optional activities include checking out a Broadway Show or an afternoon at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum or a day at the Bronx Zoo, the largest city zoo in the USA, boasting over 650 species.
