Welcome to Brooklyn! Our centre is located just one subway ride away from Manhattan. The breath-taking iconic skyline of New York can be viewed from Brooklyn Heights and everything that the city has to offer is within easy reach. This is the perfect location if you want to experience "The Big Apple” but also discover more genuine parts of the city.

Single/Double/Triple standard rooms: $1,790 per week
Double/Triple/Quad with shared en-suite: $1,890
(price includes tuition, trips, activities, accommodation and full board)
Day Programme: $640 per week

Ages: 12 – 18 (18 year olds accepted as part of a group with a leader)

✓ Rooms are located in Hoyt Halls. Hoyt Halls residence is located less than a 5-minute walk from central LIU Brooklyn campus
✓ Students stay quad en-suite rooms or standard twin/triple rooms
✓ Each room is furnished with a wardrobe, desk and chair
✓ Laundry available in both residence buildings, $1.50 for cleaning and $1.50 for drying
✓ The communal facilities are cleaned daily
✓ All rooms have air-conditioning and linen changed weekly
✓ Towel and washcloth are provided
✓ Students are responsible to keep their rooms clean and tidy, bathrooms are cleaned daily
Activities and excursions are scheduled in mornings, afternoons or evenings, with full-day trips at the weekend. All activities are designed to continue the learning in a fun and enjoyable way, encouraging you to develop life skills and make new friends through sport, activities and socially interactive games.
Activities
Sports: With a choice of football, mini Olympics, volleyball and basketball.
Drama: Drama and performance activities, such as drama workshops and scavenger hunts.
Evening: Activities such as karaoke, a talent show, team games and Manhattan by night walking tours.
Half-Day Trips
Our local half-day trips take students to places of interest such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square and Central Park.
Full-Day Excursions
- Coney Island: The original Brooklyn Beach theme park.
- Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island: Students can take a ferry ride to Liberty Island and view this iconic statue. Visit Ellis Island the former gateway of millions of people who immigrated to the USA.
- Empire Outlets: NYC’s only outlet shopping destination with high-quality clothes and shoes from the biggest brands.
- Macy’s 34th street: More shopping in what is known as ‘the world’s largest store’!
The classroom is at the heart of your New York Junior English Course. English Lessons are student-centred and encourage the development of relevant language skills.
- 20 x 45 minute lessons per week
- Taught by friendly and professional English teachers
- Placement test on day 1 to ensure students in appropriate level
- Maximum 17 students per class
- Students will be placed in an international class with students of different nationalities
- Standard classrooms
- Classrooms are located on campus
- Curriculum with emphasis on communication skills
- Materials included as well as an end of course report and certificate

Each 14-night stay will include a total of 12 local accompanied visits to New York with visits/activities and 2 full-day excursions to major tourist attractions such as The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, The American Museum of Natural History and Coney Island.
Students will receive their own weekly subway card and we travel on the NY Metro Subway system. We may on a rare occasion use a coach for transportation.
Students may have lessons either in the morning or in the afternoon in week 1, alternating weekly after that.
