Canterbury is a historic cathedral city and UNESCO World Heritage Site in the county of Kent. Here you’ll find beautiful medieval streets, churches and many ancient buildings.
Our centre is located on the modern campus of the University of Kent, within walking distance from the city centre. There are excellent sports facilities available as well as large outdoor spaces for additional activities.

Distance to classes On campus

On-site activities are scheduled on weekdays in between lessons, with some half-day trips and full-day excursion at the weekend. All activities are designed to continue learning in a fun and enjoyable way, encouraging students to develop life skills and make new friends through sport, activities and socially interactive games.

Sports:
 With a choice of football, mini Olympics, rounders, table tennis, volleyball and basketball.

Daytime activities: For example scavenger hunts, drama workshops and photo quiz.

Evening: Activities such as karaoke, a talent show, and team games.

Half-Day Trips
Our half-day trips take students to places of interest such as Whistable, Chatham Dockyards, Leeds Castle and Rochester Cathedral.

Full-Day Excursions
London: Explore the historic City of Westminster on your walking tour and visit the National Gallery.

Cambridge: Explore this charming, iconic city on a walking tour and visit a famous college. 

Brighton: Enjoy this vibrant, popular seaside city with beautiful architecture, visit the Sea Life Centre and The Palace Pier.

The classroom is at the heart of your Canterbury Junior English Course. English Lessons are student-centred and encourage the development of relevant language skills.

✓ 15 hours (20 x 45 minutes) of English lessons per week, morning or afternoon.

✓ Taught by qualified English teachers.

✓ Maximum 17 students per class

✓ Placement testing lesson on day 1 to ensure students are classed appropriately.

✓ We teach all levels, from beginner to advanced.

✓ All courses include learning resources, materials appropriate to students' age and level, and an end-of-course certificate.

Meals:

Meals are served in a large self-service dining hall in Rutherford College.

Each 14-night stay will include 2-3 local visits to Canterbury on foot with attractions of interest, 3-4 half-day trips to other exciting places/cities and 2 full-day excursions to other major cities like London, Cambridge or Brighton. Transport for trips may be by private coach or public transport.

The programme is for illustrative purposes only and is subject to amendments or alterations.

Students may have lessons either morning or afternoon in their first week, alternating weekly after that and visits may change.
