Welcome to Embassy UCL

Our centre is located on the city campus of world-renowned University College London, in the lively area of Bloomsbury. Situated in the middle of central London, students will be close to iconic shopping areas such as Oxford Street and Covent Garden.

Junior students (aged 13-17) and adult students (aged 18-21) can be in the same group and travel together. However, they will be accommodated in separate halls, taught in separate classes and do some activities apart.

The accommodation is split over two different residence buildings, both close to the main campus.

- Single and twin standard rooms with shared bathroom ratio of 1:5 students

- Washbasin in each room

- Communal lounges in each building

- Room furniture includes a wardrobe, desk and chair

- Rooms cleaned weekly

- Linen changed weekly

- Laundry available in residence building

- Meals served across two canteens depending on residence building

- Wi-Fi is available in all common areas

- Classrooms are in UCL buildings a short 5-10 minute walk from residence buildings

 

Activities

Activities are organised every evening and when not in lessons or on trips or local visits. These activities could be on-site or near to the centre.These may include:

- Sports such as football, mini Olympics, rounders, table tennis, volleyball and basketball

- Daytime activities such as scavenger hunts and drama workshops

- Evening activities such as karaoke, talent show and team games

Half-day Trips

Our local half-day trips take students to places of interest such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Modern, the Natural History museum, Camden Market and Thames River cruise

Full-day excursions:

Brighton: enjoy this vibrant popular seaside resort with beautiful architecture, and visit the Sea Life

Canterbury: visit this UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most visited cities in the UK with medieval buildings and enjoy the gothic architecture of Canterbury Cathedral

Cambridge: explore this iconic University city famous for its colleges and punting on the river Cam, visit Kings College

 

 

- Taught by qualified English teachers

- 20 x 45 lessons per week each morning

- Placement test on day 1 to ensure students are in their appropriate level

- Maximum 15 students per class

- Students will be placed in an international class with students of different nationalities
