Our new centre in London is based on the new Stratford campus of UCL, one of the world’s top 10 universities. Located on the 2012 London Olympic Park this beautiful campus boasts fantastic views over the London Stadium (now home to West Ham United), the Olympic Swimming Pool and Canary Wharf.
The centre is a 10 minute walk from Westfields Shopping centre and 20 minutes by tube in to central London.

Price: £1,240 per week (price includes tuition, trips, activities, accommodation and full board)

Ages: 12–18 (18 year olds accepted as part of a group with a leader)

- Students stay in single rooms with en-suite bathroom
- Arranged in flats of 9 students with communal kitchen and lounge area
- Room furniture includes a single bed, wardrobe, desk and chair
- Rooms cleaned twice weekly
- Bed linen is changed weekly
- Laundry facilities available on campus, cleaning £2.50 per wash, drying £2.50 per cycle
- Damage deposits of £30 or €40 are payable in cash by all students on arrival at the centre. This money will be returned at the end of their stay subject to any damages caused.

UCL offers full board accommodation, and we make sure that our students have the right nutritional balance. We provide suitable meals to help you stay healthy, focused, and energised. All our programmes include a variety of hot and cold meal items.

Breakfast

A range of breakfast items are typically offered to help provide students with energy for the day.
Depending on the day this could be a hot breakfast, or continental.

Lunch

A minimum of 2 options available, including a vegetarian option.

Packed lunches

Provided on full day trips: Water, fruit, sandwich or wrap, and a snack

Dinner

A minimum of 2 options available, including a vegetarian option.

Whilst delivering bespoke lesson materials, the Embassy lesson is designed to engage students in discussion, to develop the key life skills of collaboration and intercultural communication, and to provide extensive opportunities to practice and build on current language.

Lessons taught by teachers trained to deliver the Embassy Lessons

17 students per class and classes suitable for students of all levels.

15 hours a week

20 x 45 mins in UK, US and Canada

15 x 60 mins in Malta

All learning resources provided are age appropriate and all students receive an end of course certificate of attendance.

Arrival

Students will be welcomed upon arrival at UCL where they will register and get their room keys so that they can check-in to their rooms.

 

Welcome

On the first evening there will be a welcome activity which is designed to ensure students have the opportunity to meet staff and other students and get to know more about the campus, its facilities and useful information which will help them during their stay.

 

Activities

Activities are organised on days when there are no trips and during evenings, these activities take place either on-site or near the centre.

These may include:

Sports such as football, basketball, volleyball

Daytime activities such as scavenger hunts and treasure hunt

Evening activities such as disco, karaoke and film nights

Our students get to explore exciting places around London every weekday, they visit places such as: The British Museum, the Imperial War Museum, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower of London, Oxford Street and The National Gallery.

Full-day Excursions

Brighton: A vibrant, popular seaside resort with beautiful architecture, home to the Sea Life Centre.

Canterbury: Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is one of the most visited cities in the UK with medieval buildings, notably the gothic architecture of Canterbury Cathedral.

Cambridge: This iconic university city is famous for its colleges, where we will visit a famous college.

Thorpe Park: Home to thrilling rides, attractions & live events, Thorpe Park Resort is the ultimate destination for
thrill seekers featuring some of the UK’s most popular roller coasters.

Windsor Castle: Visit the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world that has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years.

Oxford: Home to the world’s oldest university, where we’ll visit a famous college.

The London Eye experience: Enjoy amazing 360-degree views over London from the world’s tallest cantilevered
observation wheel.

Madame Tussauds: Experience one of London’s best loved attractions! Star in immersive experiences and get up close and personal with more than 150 lifelike figures of your favourite celebrities.

All Day Programmes start on a Monday and vary in length dependent on the centre. Some includes the full 7 days of the week, others 6 days (excluding Sundays) and the Malta programme for Juniors (8-13) include 5 days. Students will take part of lessons, have lunch at the centre and go on activities and excursions with the rest of the students. Below is a sample of the full summer programme.

Medical information

If a student needs medical attention an Embassy staff member will help make an appointment. Group Leaders must accompany the student to an appointment. An Embassy staff member will accompany any student that is not part of a group.
