This summer school is located south of the San Francisco Bay Area, on the campus of Santa Clara University.

In recent years Santa Clara has also become better known as ‘Silicon Valley’ due to the world-leading technology companies that are based here.

It is in this atmosphere of creativity and freedom that you will learn English and explore this fascinating part of the USA.

Accommodation

At Santa Clara you'll stay in a traditional dormitory style hall of residence. This style of living helps students develop friendships when away from home.

You will stay in a twin room, which comes fully furnished with your own bed, dresser, desk and chair. Rooms also come with a washbasin – whilst bathroom facilities are shared.

There are communal lounges in the residence, furnished with a television, billiards table, table tennis, drinks and snack machines.

Security: There is 24-hour security on site. Anyone with an emergency during the night should call the centre mobile number which will be given to all students on arrival.

Facilities

• Sports facilities: Outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool, green sports fields and basketball court.
• Dining Hall: Market Square is the main dining hall, serving a variety of meals including hot main courses, vegetarian meals, salads, fruits and desserts. In the Benson Centre you will also find the Mission Bakery and Café.
• Common room: All are smoke free with wireless internet access.
• Launderette:These are available in the residence. There is no cost for using these facilities.
• Email & internet: : In addition to wireless internet there are computers in the library for students to use.
• Campus shops: There is a campus bookstore which sells books, postcards and other campus essentials.

• Three full-day excursions each week.
• All excursions are normally provided by a private transport company.
