At Storm King you'll see another side of New York. North of the city, beyond the skyscrapers and suburbs you’ll find lakes, forests and the Storm King State Park.

This pleasantly landscaped campus, is a private boarding school with attractive buildings and grounds. The expanse of outdoor space makes it an ideal place for younger students to enjoy the fresh country air between classes.

Meanwhile, Manhattan is just 90 minutes away, giving students many opportunities to discover New York City on the weekly excursions.

Accommodation

Embassy Summer students are accommodated in the 4 traditional dormitories on the campus.

Bedrooms are twin or triple rooms with shared bathrooms at the end of each hall. Each student is furnished with a bed, dresser, desk and closet.

All dormitories have a central lounge and laundry facilities.

Security: There is 24-hour security on site. Anyone with an emergency during the night should call the centre mobile number which will be given to all students on arrival.

Facilities

  • Sports facilities: Multi-purpose sports field, dance studio, soccer field, basketball and tennis.
  • Dining Hall: Self-service in large spacious food hall. Serving hot and cold meals, salads, fruits and desserts.
  • Common room: Lounges with cable television in each dormitory, terrace for barbecues, modern cafeteria and library for quiet study time.
  • Launderette: There is a coin-operated launderette on site. Embassy Summer staff are available to help students if needed.
  • Stores: There are a number of outlets on campus including a small supermarket, pharmacy, computer shop and a bank.

Activities*

Daytime activities

  • Sports: Football, Mini-Olympics, Basketball, Baseball, Dance, Volleyball and Tennis.
  • Non-sports: American Idol, Movies, Talent Show and additional off-site visits.

Evening activities

  • Hiking to Black Rock Forest, 'Embassy Got Talent' showcase, Discos, Ice Cream making and Casino night.

Excursions**

Included in the course price:

  • One full-day and 2 half-day excursions each week.
  • All excursions are normally provided by a private transport company.
  • Transport for local and optional excursions are not included.

Examples of typical included excursions:

  • Local visits: West Point Military Base and Storm King Art Center.
  • New York City: Various destinations from 5th Avenue to St. Patrick's Cathedral.
  • Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island: Visit the ultimate landmark and symbol of New York.
  • Central Park & Columbus Circle: Visit sites in and around Central Park.

  • Splashdown Beach Water Park: In nearby Fishkill.
