Uxbridge is a suburb of Western Greater London. Our summer school here is located on the Uxbridge Campus of Brunel University.

This summer school is ideal for students who want to study at green and pleasant university campus, whilst also having a direct train route to London. The Uxbridge programme is specially designed to give students 2 full days each week to explore London.

The shopping area of Uxbridge is a short distance from the campus. Getting to this summer school is very easy as London Heathrow Airport is just a short distance by motorway.

Accommodation

Summer school students are accommodated in the on-campus university halls of residence, within easy reach of all campus facilities.

Rooms options:

  1. Single bedroom with private en suite bathrooms.
  2. Single bedroom with washbasin, and shared bathroom facilities (in a ratio of 1 bathroom to 4 bedrooms).

Security: There is 24-hour security on site. Anyone with an emergency during the night should call the centre mobile number which will be given to all students on arrival.

Facilities

  • Classrooms: Lessons take place in modern well-equipped classrooms or lecture theatres in the main school building.
  • Sports facilities: Football pitches, all-weather pitches and outdoor tennis courts.
  • Dining Hall: Modern, self-service dining-hall close to the accommodation and classrooms.
  • Social space: There is a classic English style bar where most of the evening entertainment will be held.
  • Common room: Theatre available for evening entertainment such as talent shows and karaoke. Discos are held in the large Student Union on site and there are other large social rooms.
  • Shops: There are a number of outlets on campus including a small supermarket, pharmacy, computer shop and a bank.

  • Buckingham Palace: Visit the Queen's Gallery and, during a few weeks of summer the state rooms at the British Monarch's primary home.
  • Brighton Royal Pavilion: An unusual and decorative palace that is influenced by oriental styles.
  • Chessington World of Adventures: A zoo and theme park on the edge of Greater London, with roller-coasters and water rides.
  • Hampton Court Palace: A 16th century, large and impressive palace with extensive gardens.
  • Kew Gardens: Huge garden estate housing the world's largest collection of living plants.
  • London Eye: Take a ride on Europe's tallest Ferris wheel and enjoy fantastic views over London.
  • Madame Tussauds & Marvel 4D Experience: Waxwork museum, now with a unique 4D cinema!
  • Tower of London: For centuries this palace, with its prison tower was the place of many royal executions.
  • Windsor Castle:Visit the Queen's favourite weekend home. The oldest, and largest, inhabited castle in the world.
