Welcome to Embassy South Bank

Our centre is located on the campus of South Bank University, only a short walk from attractions such as the London Eye and the London Dungeon. The location can not be more central! Our students will be staying at McLaren House just a couple of minutes from the main University building.

Centre Facilities

  • Classrooms: Modern classrooms with projectors and audio-visual facilities
  • Sports facilities: 1 indoor multi-purpose sports hall available once a week, and a local park used for games and activities
  • Dining Hall: Meals are served in a large self-service dining hall
  • Common room: Communal space in each flat
  • Wi-Fi: Available throughout accommodation, social and teaching spaces

Academic and Social Programme

  • Taught by qualified English teachers
  • 20 x 45 lessons per week each morning
  • Placement test on day 1 to ensure students are in their appropriate level
  • Maximum 15 students per class
  • Spacious classrooms with projectors and teacher internet access to use online resources
  • Curriculum with emphasis on communication skills
  • Materials included
  • Trinity exam preparation available

Activities are organised on days when there are no trips and during evenings, these activities take place either on-site or near the centre.

These may include:

  • Sports such as football, mini Olympics, rounders, table tennis, volleyball and basketball
  • Daytime activities such as scavenger hunts and drama workshops
  • Evening activities such as karaoke, talent show, and team games
Our local half-day trips take students to places of interest such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, Notting Hill, the British Museum, Greenwich and the Maritime museum, the Tate Modern museum, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Thames River Cruise, Westminster walking tour, Canary Wharf, Notting Hill and Camden market.

Brighton: enjoy this vibrant popular seaside resort with beautiful architecture and visit the Royal Pavilion

‭Canterbury: visit this UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most visited cities in the UK with medieval buildings and enjoy the gothic architecture of Canterbury Cathedral

‭Cambridge: explore this iconic University city famous for its colleges and explore King’s College

Students are housed in groups of 5 to 8 within flats at McLaren House residence.
