Welcome to Embassy Portsmouth

Our centre is located next to the seafront in a building which is part of the University of Portsmouth. Both the centre and accommodation are within a short walk of the city centre, the Historic Dockyard and the Clarence Pier. Portsmouth has a lot to offer, with sights such as the Spinnaker Tower and Southsea Castle, and is also very close to other interesting cities such as Southampton, Chichester and Brighton. During the summer, English language students at Embassy Portsmouth will have a lot explore!

Academic and Social Programme

  • Taught by qualified English teachers
  • 20 x 45 minute lessons morning or afternoon
  • Placement test on day 1 to ensure students in appropriate level
  • Maximum 15 students per class
  • Spacious standard classrooms
  • Students will be placed in an international class with students of different nationalities
  • Modern classrooms are located a short walk from the accommodation
  • Curriculum with emphasis on communication skills
  • Materials included

Activities are organised every evening all week and before or after lessons. These activities could be on-site or near to the centre.

These may include:

  • Sports such as football, mini Olympics, rounders, table tennis, volleyball and basketball
  • Daytime activities such as scavenger hunts and drama workshops
  • Evening activities such as karaoke, talent show, and team gamesshow, and team games

Our local half-day trips take students to places of interest such as Portsmouth historic dockyards, Chichester and its cathedral and the New Forest.
