Our classes are designed to rapidly improve your English in short amount of time. With a maximum of 15 students per class, you will improve your English language skills through exercises focusing on speaking and listening.
Embassy Summer schools are run at all levels of ability in English, from Beginner (level 0) to Advanced (level 5).
All Embassy Summer school teachers are highly qualified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers. Each school has a qualified and experienced Director of Studies who oversees the programme of English teaching.
All courses begin on Sunday, with classes starting on Monday (except public holidays).
At the very first English class all summer school students are asked to take an English test. The test includes writing, vocabulary and an oral interview. This allows us to place you in the right class for your ability level.
We also run the "Culture Club", a series of lectures on an interesting subject - for example, a look at the history and significance of the excursion destinations you will go on, such as ‘William Shakespeare and the town of Stratford-upon-Avon’. By attending these lectures and taking part in the lively debates you will also help improve skills such as note-taking and formal listening.
We are pleased to offer the opportunity to take the Trinity Graded examination in spoken English in the UK. With 12 grades altogether, these one-to-one oral exams with a Trinity Examiner assess speaking and listening skills, and link to the Common European Frame of Reference. These exams are suitable for all students looking to improve their English skills, from absolute beginner to proficient ability levels.
Students interested in taking the Trinity exam should mention this on the enquiry form when making the on-line booking.
Trinity exams must be booked by 30th May 2012.
Students can also choose to do the preparation lessons, without sitting the exam itself.
