Our Cambridge summer school is at the year-round international school Bellerbys College. The campus is located in the north of the city in a quiet residential suburb. Classrooms, accommodation, sports facilities and dining hall are all on one site.

The campus is on a main bus route into Cambridge. The historic city centre has many beautiful buildings and streets which are fun to explore on foot, or alternatively by boat.

Accommodation

Two accommodation options are available.

Room options:

  1. On-campus
    Standard single bedrooms, with 4 bedrooms sharing each bathroom and kitchen. Residential accommodation also includes breakfast and dinner in the cafeteria. A warden is available 24 hours a day for your security.
  2. Homestay (host family)
    Live with a host family in Cambridge, at a location near to the centre. All of our host families are monitored and vetted. Breakfast and evening meals will be provided by the family and lunch will be taken at the centre. Packed lunches will be provided for any trips. The family will also provide laundry service.

Facilities

  • Classrooms: Equipped with Interactive whiteboards to aid learning.
  • Sports facilities: On-site multi-purpose sports hall, football pitches, and tennis courts.
  • Common areas: Satellite television, DVD player, X-Box, and table football.
  • Dining Hall: : Modern cafeteria serving breakfast*, lunch and dinner*. Also selling a variety of snacks, fruit as well as hot and cold drinks. Our varied menu caters to a range of tastes and diets.

    * Homestay students receive lunch at the cafeteria – and other meals with their host family.

  • Email: Free wireless internet access across all areas of the college with PCs in common areas.

Daytime activities

  • Sports: Football, Badminton, Basketball, Table Tennis and Tennis.
  • Non-sports: Giant board games, Arts & Crafts, Drama and Music.

Excursions**

Included in the course price:

  • One full-day by coach each week.
  • Two half-day local visit to Cambridge each week.

Examples of typical included excursions:

  • London: The UK capital offers an unrivalled choice of shopping, world-class galleries, museums and so much more.
  • Oxford: Home to England's oldest university, you'll enjoy exploring Oxford's grand buildings, containing museums, shops and colleges.
  • Stratford-upon-Avon: Famous as the birthplace of playwright William Shakespeare, visit historic English buildings dating back centuries.

Examples of typical optional excursions:

  • Brighton: England’s favourite seaside resort is a vibrant and colourful city with great independent shops, pier, rides, ice cream parlours and restaurants.
  • Norwich: A pretty and historic city with castle, cathedral and some great shopping.
  • Windsor: Visit the Queen’s favourite weekend home. The oldest, and largest, inhabited castle in the world.
